Hillside LocalSource EDITORIAL - Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders: Mirabella, Sytko, Cole and Zapolski

For at least 15 years, Union County has been ruled by an all-Democrat Freeholder Board, and while the current officials have been successful with at least a few initiatives, there is a great deal of complacency on the dais, whether or not officials care to admit it. Without a doubt, more balance is needed and for this reason, we support Republicans Anthony Sytko and Nicole D. Cole for two of the three available seats on the freeholder board and Republican Art Zapolski for the Union County Surrog… Continue

High School Sports Hillside football team performs well to bounce back with 2 solid victories

By JR Parachini Union County Sports Editor Many times when a team opens with a 42-0 loss and is a squad that is very young and inexperienced at many key positions, it's easy for those kids to say, "what are we doing?" Then you add that it's a team that will not play a single game at home this year and you have a squad that will have no choice but to continue to work hard and push itself if anything good is to happen. The Hillside football team did not take the "woe is me" road after gett… Continue
